Biogeografic region: Andean, Guiana Shield, Pacific. Elevation range: 50–2800 m a.s.l. Native to Colombia. Colombian departments: Antioquia, Cauca, Chocó, Córdoba, Cundinamarca, Magdalena, Nariño, Santander, Tolima.
