Driver: Jørgen Breinholt (DK) Racing class: Legend Cup Race number: 6 Race results in 2014 event: Training (fri.): 19 (of 27) Qualifying (sat.): 24 (of 29) Heat 1 (sat): 14 (of 28) Heat 2 (sun.): 12 (of 28) Heat 3 (sun.): 22 (of 25) The Legend Cup, or Legend Car Cup is a class rapidly gaining momentum worldwide... and for several reasons: the cars are very small, lightweight, nimble and affordable, making it an ideal entry class for any petrol-head wanting to experience the thrills of racing without spending a fortune. Because of the small size, the cars can - and do - overtake practically anywhere, even on narrow circuits like this one. For that same reason, the class is both highly entertaining for spectators, and also ideal for showcasing driver skills to potential sponsors and team owners from the "bigger" classes. The cars consist of simple (but strong) metal frames with motorbike engines(!) and fibreglass bodies, resembling those of american cars of the 1930s. The class is known for spectacular crashes and intense duels. |
