Peltigera ponojensis Gyelnik Image location: Planalto das Cezaredas, Portugal I suspect the other observation of being P. ponojensis, too, but the visible detail is insufficient (for me) to prove the distinction. T. Goward has told me that the two species do not commonly overlap in habitat. (Of course, he promptly showed me two specimens growing side-by-side not minutes after that statement! :) So if these two observations were close to each other, looked the same, etc… then they probably are the same. I think we have enough detail in this observation to make a good case for P. ponojensis. But let me just re-emphasize how little confidence I have! :) Recognized by sight: entirely white underneath with scattered simple rhizines and narrow raised veins Used references: British Flora
