A quick check on the Australian Museum site seems to confirm this but I have to admit that I didn't know they came with these markings... It does look like a species of Dory, and looking at the size of the hooks, it was probably not too big. Small John Dory I have caught (between 25 and 30 cms) have the same markings as adults. Jim, I always thought Silver Dory were silver in colour, but reading your attachment shows the fish has a number of different names, of which one of those names would be more appropriate than Silver Dory.
