ABAW - Post Impairment Asset

Hi Experts,

I have the below query

Scenario - Asset bought for $100000 on 01/01/2014, depreciation executed on 9/30/2014 $3750

                 Company wants to impair full $100000 on 10/31/2014. There should not be any NBV value left

ABAW was executed on 10/31/2014

AFAB was executed on 10/31/2014, we see $100000 was reversed, however accumulated depreciation was reversed upto 3365.38 instead of $3750

Transaction key ( Z81 - Impairment Loss current year) used

Asset value date - 01/01/2014

Any thoughts , why the accumulated depreciation is not getting fully reversed.

What is the period control method maintained for the dep.key of the asset? And also share screen shot of the transaction type used for posting.

Hi Mukthar,

1. If you see fig 3 (ABAW) , I posted only Z81.

Note: After executing ABAW in point 1 above, Z83 got posted automatically when I executed

         AFAB as part of monthly dep run.

Hi,

I have checked it wont generate the additional entry when you run AFAB. I think you have posted another entry after you post. You can also check when you have posted in AB03.

Hi Mukthar

ABAW was executed on Period 10 and AFAB was executed in Period 10

During period 10 the above entry with Z83 transaction type didn't post.

However in the next period 11, when AFAB was executed, the Z83 got automatically posted along with AFAB accounting entries in a separate line item.

Note: When I checked the accounting entry  for Z83 , the header shows AFABN.

Hi Sanjai,

As per screen shot the t.code AB01 is used. So it has not generated automatically when you run AFAB. The entry has entered manually, later when you run AFAB the entry got posted in FI. You can compare the Z81 & Z83 document headers then you came to know.
