Asset Takeover Date has affected the newly acquired asset's depreciation starting date?

Hi Gurus,

I am testing in a sandbox S4 1909. Found an issue on the depreciation start date for the new acquired fixed assets.

Step 1 OAYC screen

Step 2 F-90 to purchase the new asset.

This is the first weird part, system did say it updated posting date to 2021.01.01, but still it posts to 2020.10.

Step 3 Check Carryfoward. Both LL and NLL are done for 2021.

Step 4 Display the asset and display APC and planned depreciation.

Step 5 run depreciation and check.

I am thinking it might not be the asset module problem, because starting from the posted APC, the posting date is wrong, even though I changed the value date in F-90.

Thank you!

Hello Yang,

Could you please check and confirm your Fiscal Year Variant?

It looks like your fiscal year is different than calendar year from April to March.

If this is the case January is your fiscal period 10 and that's why the system accept the posting date 01.01.2021 and adjust the fiscal period to 10.

And this doesn't have any relation with asset takeover date.
