We don't have change number at BOM level. Now I want to search what change we have done in last couple of days. So I'm going to AUT10 & checking for tcode CS02. So system shows me entry like attached screen. How do I know for which material/ BOM this change happened?

Please help me to figure out.

Hi Eric,

I will tell you how to analyze the Table key field. It is having 28 characters

  • First 3 characters 100 is the client

  • Next character M is the BOM type - Material BOM

  • Next 8 characters are the BOM number 00000462 (Check in MAST table for header material)

  • Next 8 characters is item node & next 8 characters is counter (Check in STPO table to find the component)

By knowing the component and header material, i think you can relate new value, old value and the field label.

Check and revert back if you face any difficulties.

Krishna Chandra

HI Eric,

I hope your getting clear idea about BOM change history.I am just exploring little bit on this

If you want to compare previous and new Boms, you have to use change management (change order number). Once you have make a change using change order number, you can explose BOM at different validity date.

If you want to check al the changes and get all the modifications made in your Bom, just go in CS02 (or CS03) without indicating any change order number, nor date. You will get all items with the different validity dates.

But in your case ur not activated ECM u can check below details

Go to CS02/CS03 >> Environment >> Change Document >> Document overview.Atleast you can see Change by,Old Value,New Value.

Hello Eric,

Try using CS80 transaction to check what changes have been done to BOM

Also you can decipher what changes were done to BOM from above screenshot.

For eg. the field- Obj. key in your screenshot is nothing but combination of client - 100,  and BOm number- 462 details of which you can see in table MAST by inputting BOM number and you can get the header material for the BOM. So this means changes are done to BOM 462.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Sahil
