IW52 Notification Details Screen

Hi All,

We currently have a need to change the use of some of the address screens in IW52. The Notification Details tab consists of the following sub tabs:

Customer Address

Contact Person Address

Message Address

Object Address.

The message address is currently used for the person resolving the issue for which the notification was raised. However, down the line, there might be a need to transfer the resolution to someone else. eg say we were initially talking to an engineer/designer and later we needed to deal with a surveyor. We are considering overwriting the message address with the new address or using the object address since it is currently not being used.

Problem is the object address is greyed out. and no address maintenance button as is the case for Customer & Contact person address tabs. Is the object address tab used specifically for a purpose like technical object? Does this auto populates with technical object address since it is greyed out?

Please educate me with what the object address is used for and whether or not it can be used for another purpose.

Why not use Partners in your notification which are linked to HR masters or User IDs? Both of thee can contain an address.

According to the submission by Maheswaran KD., we may have to overwrite the initial address details in Message tab if we need to add a new address since Object Address cannot be used.

please suggest where to keep the overwritten address for reporting purpose in future.

The Partner function is being used by using the Partner overview and maintaining the partner address. But the issue is which screen do we use to display such address since the customer tab, the contact person tab and the message tab are already occupied with various address details. Where do we display a new address details if we don't want to overwrite the message address?

Hope Engineer/Designer, Surveyor are not only own employee. It could be even outside people / vendor.

So, I suggested to go for message address. You can keep some Z - table to store the previous address for reporting purpose.

If all people contact persons are your own employee, you can add employee in same sequence in Partners tab how you deal for that service notification.

As you mentioned, Object address will be derived from Technical Object (Equipment / Functional location) address. This can't be changed at notification level.

You may have to use Message Address only.
