Link a PRT material number with interchangeable item

Dear Members,

Thanks for giving me a good solutions for early matters in SAP.

Today I need a help regarding MM01/02 tool.

Please see the area we're working with...

Question 1: Is there any suitable method to link these PRT material number with related interchangeable part.

Ex: I've created 20xxxxx interchangeable part which is a crimp & then I create the PRT Material number for the hand crimping tool(this tool may use for several crimps).

So I need to get Where used list for PRT number that shows the interchangeable part instead of the routing, you can guess the idea by checking CA70 t-code.

Hi,

You have following options-

Option-1->

You can either go for entering old material number for your material master in Basic data-1 view

Option-2:->

You can enter manufacturer part number for your material master in Purchasing view

I suggested you can go for option -2 by activating MPN profile.

I highly appreciate your support.

I've another points on your answer.

Option 1: If I enter to PRT into Old material number, how can I get the where used list? or can I get           that details in SQ01?

Option 2: If I add the PRT number into Manufacturer part number in purchasing view, how the purchasers will get the MPN of interchangeable part (in my example the Crimp) to purchase it?

Could oyu please advice me?

To answer to your option 1, you can can then just use the F4 in the material number field and choose the search option by old material number to find all your relations

Dear Lahiru,

I recommend you to go for the first as mentioned by Biju, as normally we used this in clients. As of my knowledge it can't be done as you are doing in standard.
