Dear
Gurus,
I'm trying to create PIR(md61) for a single material on the same date but with 2 separate quantities. System is not letting me. Both quantities cannot be added but need to be separately planned. As far as my research goes there are 2 solutions: Defining 2 separate Versions or defining 2 Requirements Plan. I am unable to do both as the info on this topic is limited on scn. Can someone please help me out with detailed solution with screen shots.
Thanks
shankar
Hi Shankar,
It is strange that I have created requirement on the single date with requirement type vsf with different production version. but still system is creating single plan order for all of them.
Ideally if the production version is different than it should create different plan order. I think you should raise it to SAP. Please see below screenshots.

Hi Shankar,
Not sure why you want to put two different requirements for the same material on the same date. Can you elaborate the business requirement for this and very curious to know this kind of requirement.
Are you working on MTS or MTO. ?
if it is MTO scenario, then this requirement is logical and can be done easily in SAP. If you are working on MTS then this requirement is illogical and cannot be met in Standard SAP.
Sit with your client, understand the requirement in detail, then explain and convince them on this .
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Kumar

Hello Shankar.
In a MTS scenario usually PIR is unique for a point on time. If you want allocate the production to many assembly lines you can use Quota arragementes for production version. You can get more information here:

Hello Shankar,
Production version:
but same date two different quantities will not be possible as system will check the date and consider the greater one as a demand.i.e. same date two schedule lines will not be possible through production version demand
Case 2 : As suggested requirement type. the requirement type will depends on the planning strategy which you have maintained in the material master..
in this case you can upload the demand for same material with same date by using the two different requirement types,

Hi Shankar,
Setting up a different requirement plan is much simpler and convinent solution for this.

Hi
Venkatesh,
I tried this solution and PIRs are being generated separately, thankyou for that. BUT MRP run is clubbing together both Independent requirements and creating a single Planned order. What I want is that MRP Create 2 Separate Planned orders for the 2 seperate IndReq.
Any luck on that?

Shankar
Hello Shankar
I was wondering if you can share with us what is the businnes scenario that you are trying to map in SAP. It's a make to order or make to stock scenario?. Standar system have different functionalities, however we need more information to suggest one of them.
You can have different requeriments for a material at the same date. For example you can recibe Sales Order from different customers for the same delivery date. Do you want create one procuremet proposal for each sale order?
In the material master you can assign Checking Group for availabilty check = 02 Indiv. requirement . The system creates one procurement proposal for each individual requirement.
Best Regards
Milton
Hi,
Are your both the version are active version kindly check.
Active versions are considered during MRP run. If you have more than one active version all versions will be treated as requirements and will be used to generate planned order, one use of this would be to use different requirement types .
Other use would be to have like draft copy of PIRs before finalizing the active version.
Thanks & Regards

Hello
I think if you are using the MTS scenario than system will not create the separate planned orders for the same date requirement.
Have a look on the note for question 6 .

And also on the document for the BAdI
Hope this may help

Hello
I hope the PIR version will solve your problem.
Please try yourself with the same material with the different PIR versions in MD61.
Use standard version is suggested (define your own version in OMP2).
Also please note that if you mark version active than only the system will plan the PIR in the MRP run
Hope this may help

Hello
SS,
So what I understand I should use a standard version on the same material for first quantity on the same date and then use another standard version on the same material for the second quantity on the same date?
Kindly clarify and elaborate what other steps are required prior and after this?
Thanks
Shankar
