Hi Experts,
Recenlty our client has upgraded its system to ECC 6.0. Now when the users try to create catalog codes through QS41, the sytems is not modifiable message appears. The users want to create the codes as that of master data so that they don't have to follow transport request through development--Quality--Production server.
I checked the SAP notes and SDN too for this and SAP note 736920 is suggested. However, the 'current setting' flag is tocked in development system and tried to check in QS41. Still it is asking for transport request.
Please let me know if any one of you have done it successfully before, as there are lots of suggestions in web but those are confusing.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Rajesh

Thank You Paul.
I will check the notes and come back to you.
However, one immediate question:
1. The settings mentioned in the note has to be done directly on the production server. And it should not be moved via development--quality--production route as we normally do for any customization changes. Please clarify if my understanding is correct.

Rajesh
Dear Paul,
Thank you for the quick reply. Since we have ECC 6.0, we are doing note 736920 implementation.
As per this note , we will flag the 'Current setting' check box.
Two questions:
1. Do we need to change "Transport' setting too (at present it is 'Automatic Transport' maintained.) in SOBJ --> V_QPAM_CL (View Cluster)(or V_QPGR_CL) , apart from 'Current Setting' check box as per note. See attachment also.
2. Apart from above point-1, do we need to do some changes in SCC4 in Productive client? At present it has 'Changes and Transport for Client-Specific Objects' setting as 'No Changes allowed'. This is also attached as screen shot.( But I afraid that this cannot be done/allowded just for catalog codes requireemtn and it may be global effect.).
Please clarify so that right setting can be done in productive client as per business requirement (to save catalog codes / selected sets as master data- No transport request should be needed).
Thank You.
Regards,
Rajesh
