Gracie Allen

Grace Ethel Cecile Rosalie “Gracie” Allen (July 26, 1895 – August 27, 1964) attained widespread acclaim as an American vaudevillian, singer, actress, and comedian. Gracie Allen became internationally famous as the whimsical partner and comic foil of her husband George Burns, who served as her straight man. Together, they formed the iconic duo Burns and Allen, entertaining audiences across radio, television, and film.

In recognition of her significant contributions to the television industry, Gracie Allen received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at Hollywood Boulevard. Furthermore, both Gracie Allen and George Burns were inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1988.

Her co-star, Bea Benaderet, offered high praise for Gracie Allen in 1966, stating, “She was probably one of the greatest actresses of our time.”
