The National Council of Public Finance (Conseil national des finances publiques, CNFP) on 30 January revealed its new constellation, which will be presided by Romain Bausch.

Four years have passed since the public finance watchdog appointed new members and a president. A couple of members remain from the previous mandate to cover the next mandate running from 2023 to 2026.

, the former chairman of the board of directors of Luxembourg satellite company SES, will continue to serve as the president of the CNFP. He currently sits on the boards of Banque Raiffeisen, Compagnie financière La Luxembourgeoise and the Luxembourg Future Fund. 

The public finance watchdog is an independent body responsible, since its foundation in 2014, for monitoring compliance with fiscal rules, the possible triggering of the automatic correction mechanism under EU regulations and assessing the Luxembourg government's macroeconomic and financial forecasts.

Bausch was recommended by the Chamber of Deputies, as was Simone Delcourt. , proposed by the Court of Auditors, Norry Dondelinger, recommended by the chambers of commerce, trades and agriculture and , put forward by the chambers of civil servants and employees will be part of the CNFP too. Eva Kremer and --both recommended by the government of Luxembourg--complete the group.
