Description

Hippocampus subelongatus is a ray-finned fish species from the family of pipefishes and seahorses (Syngnathidae).The scientific name of the species is validly published for the first time in 1873 by Castelnau. The species is on the Red List of the IUCN as Uncertain,assessment year 2002.
