   Rosaceae Week- Potentilla bifurca??: Seen this prostrate herb with small yellow flowers near “Chusul” Ladakh. I think this could be Potentilla bifurca? Pl. Validate the ID.

Habitat: Wild, (Found in sandy soil near a flowing water stream) Plant Habit; Herb Our plant is P. bifurca var. major (syn: P. bifurca subsp. orientalis of Fl. Pak) characterised by leaf surface being appressed (and not spreading) pilose and leaflet tip being entire, they are 2-fid at tip in var. bifurca. .

P. anserina has alternate large and small leaflets, and lots of stolons
P. microphylla numerous small, close and pinnatifid-toothed. One more gross observation: Large gaps between the petals so that a lot of calyx is visible through it. (This can be kept in mind while searching for other given characters if somebody is going to visit similar area in future) . Entire imbricated leaves are characteristic of this plant. Date: 24 August 2014 Tribulus terrestris ??? This is not Tribulus terrestris What could it be ? This is Sibbaldianthe bifurca (L.) Kurtto & T.Erikss.  
    Sibbaldianthe bifurca subsp. orientalis (2): 4 high res. images. Taken on the way to Nubra valley (10000 ft.) from Khardung La (17800 ft.) on 16.6.22.    Sibbaldianthe bifurca subsp. orientalis (3): Taken on 15.6.22 in South Pullu at around 15000 ft. while going up from Leh to Khardung La (17800 ft.).   Sibbaldianthe bifurca subsp. orientalis (4): 2 high res. images. At an altitude of 15,300 feet on the Leh-Khardung La road at South Pullu on 15.6.22, in Ladakh. . References:
