Vacuum in the Army Command: the story is Maronite par excellence

Former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives Elie Ferzli, via the "Akhbar al-Yawm" agency, ruled out that any development will take place at the level of outstanding internal entitlements, saying: nothing will change as long everyone is waiting for the opportunity to seize it for his own benefit and to expand his influence in positions of power and institutions.

Commenting on the vacuum in the main positions belonging to Christians, Ferzli considered that Christians themselves are the cause of the vacuum in these positions, as a result of their selfishness and conflicts, and this is what happens at the level of the army command, recalling that there was a team that was refusing to make any appointments under the presidential vacuum, but suddenly, this same team wants to appoint only in order to accelerate the retirement of Army Commander Joseph Aoun before the election of the president, hence: the story is Christian-Christian, Maronite par excellence!

Commenting on the visit of the US Special Presidential Coordinator for Global Infrastructure and Energy Security, Amos Hochstein to Beirut, and the messages he carried, Ferzli said: Hochstein did not carry warnings, the American warning occurred as soon as the fleets arrived in the Middle East, but he talked about the possibility of not expanding the front in the event of unforeseen developments in Gaza.

He concluded by stressing that the goal is not to expand the fronts in Lebanon, "it is clear from the first day of the events in Gaza".
