In season two of CBS’ summer breakout drama, the actor-musician will play Lyle Chumley, who runs the Chester’s Mill’s barbershop. We’re told Chumley “has a complicated history with Big Jim — having once been romantically linked with his dead wife, Pauline. Lyle also has a mysterious connection to the Dome, and very well may know the answer to its origins.” Yoakam will appear in multiple episodes as a recurring guest star in season 2, which gets underway June 30. The Grammy-winning Kentucky native has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide and appeared in more than 35 films, including Panic Room, Sling Blade and Red Rock West (a terrific noir film if you haven’t seen it). On the small screen, he last had an arc on FX’s Wilfred last year. Here’s the latest Dome trailer:
