Baywatch movie: Dwayne The Rock Johnson, David Hasselhoff pictured together on set

The Rock and The Hoff are teaming up to protect the beach.

Dwayne Johnson shared a photo of David Hasselhoff on set of the upcoming Baywatch movie. Johnson had nothing but nice things to say about the star of the original series.

“In the 80’s he drove the coolest car on the planet. In the 90’s he dominated slo-mo running on the beach with the most successful TV show of all time. And today he’s simply The f’n man,” Johnson wrote on Instagram. “Phenomenal day on set with my brotha – the OG himself, David Hasselhoff – the man who started it all. Great dude with a great sense of humor. AND he trained his ass off for our movie.”

Johnson announced Hasselhoff’s involvement by posting a video of a Facetime conversation between the two of them.

“Rock and The Hoff, I was born ready,” Hasselhoff told Johnson. “There ain’t no Bay without The Hoff,” Johnson said in the clip. “Get ready, world.”

Hasselhoff played Mitch Buchannon in seasons 1 through 9 on the lifeguard drama show, for a total of 220 episodes. Johnson will play a version of Buchannon in the film.

Baywatch the movie also stars Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, and Priyanka Chopra. The Seth Gordon action-comedy is slated for a May 19, 2017 release.
