Taylor Swift nearly falls off the roof of her Folklore cabin during Tokyo concert: 'My life flashed before my eyes'

"What a great night in Tokyo!'

Taylor Swift is shaking it off after a scary incident on stage at an Eras Tour stop in Tokyo on Friday.

During the Folklore set of her show, during which she sings on a moss-covered cabin, she was making her way off the roof of the structure when she tripped. She nearly fell before catching herself in time — but she needed to pause afterwards and address the audience.

"I almost fell off the Folklore cabin, but I didn't, and that's... the lesson," she told the crowd, laughing. "My life flashed before my eyes. Yeah, no, I'm good. It's all good. Everything's fine. Everything's great!"

At a loss for words, she continued, "I'm just so happy that I didn't fall off the Folklore cabin, you know what I mean? What a great night in Tokyo! It was right as I was taking my harness off, too. It was really just, so, anyway..."

Ever the pro, Swift then moved things right along with her planned remarks before diving into a performance of the Folklore track "Betty."

It's been an eventful week for the singer, who broke a Grammy record for the most Album of the Year wins ever by an artist — for her 2022 album, Midnights — on Sunday. She also snagged the award for Best Pop Vocal Album, also for Midnights, and while accepting it took the opportunity to surprise fans with the title and release date of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.

Swift revealed the tracklist for the album on Monday as she headed to Tokyo to kick off her 2024 Eras Tour dates. Then, on Wednesday, Disney announced that the full Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film is finally coming to streaming — with four bonus surprise songs — March 15 on Disney+.
