Who doesn’t love the legendary Unimog? Serving as military vehicles and firefighters, participating in competitions like the Dakar Rally, and, of course, as expedition and overland vehicles, the beloved and respected Unimog has, as a matter of interest, a strikingly similar history to the Land Rover Defender. Designed by Albert Friedrich and Heinrich Rößler post-World War II, the Unimog was initially intended for agricultural use. Its unique design featured rear-wheel drive, switchable front-wheel drive, and equal-size wheels, allowing it to operate at higher speeds than standard farm tractors. Its high ground clearance and flexible frame, integral to its suspension, set the Unimog apart and give it unparalleled off-road capabilities.
