Summer is the perfect time to discover Racine County! The hardest part is choosing which adventure to embrace when you need time away from “real life.” If you need a starting point in those decisions, let our county-wide Convention and Visitor Bureau, Visit Racine County, help!

Jump on your bike and explore miles of trails on the Pike River Pathway. Join a fishing charter and catch monster fish on Lake Michigan. Wander the shops in Burlington, and fall in love with Waterford when you launch your kayak on the Fox River. Speaking of kayaks, take our advice and contact Fox River Canoe and Kayak Adventure to plan an amazing day on the water with a group, or even solo! When you need a break from all these activities, head to North Beach. You can rest on over 50 acres of soft sand, all while enjoying the view of the Lake Michigan shoreline. Don’t forget parking is always free at Racine’s North Beach! You can choose from diverse dining opportunities and finish your adventure with an ice cream cone in the always-lively Downtown Racine area. If shopping is your favorite activity, start with all the shops on Main Street — I bet you will not only find something new that you MUST have, but you may catch a live music concert or fun event happening too (Bend and Brew Yoga? Mini Golf Pub Crawl? Racine Harbor Market? Yes please!). Check out Downtown Racine Corporation at racinedowntown.com for a full list of all their events.

Maybe your favorite getaway involves animals? If that is the case, Racine County has the very best experience waiting for you…The Racine Zoo is turning 100 years old in 2023! Our very own beloved zoo, located right on Lake Michigan, is throwing the best year-long birthday party in Wisconsin and you are invited! For tickets and more information, visit racinezoo.org.

Don’t forget that a true Summer Getaway is specific to YOU.  Not only will you stay busy experiencing Racine County fun (Franksville Craft Beer Garden! Caledonia’s Jellystone Campground!) but you will meet the best part of our County — the people. We are a welcoming bunch! We are proud of our history, our traditions, and our local, family-run businesses. Our Kringle history alone will have you clamoring for a personal taste test. Kringle is the handmade Danish pastry that calls Racine home and we have multiple family-run bakeries to vie for your Kringle love. Don’t forget that architecture buffs love Racine County too! From the SC Johnson Administration building to the personal-home-turned-conference-center Wingspread, you can tour these beautifully maintained Frank Lloyd Wright-designed properties. To schedule your tour, visit reservations.scjohnson.com.

No matter what time you have, we have time for YOU. Welcome to Racine County!
