Description

This is as red as a tropical Water Lily can get, with huge 7"-10" flowers held high above the water! Flowers are extremely prolific, with a single plant producing 7 or more blooms at a time! The large deep reddish-bronze foliage is gorgeous too, with serrated tops, and purple undersides. This is a great plant for beginners.

Plants are hardy outdoors in zones 9-11, and can be treated as an annual in cooler climates, or brought indoors for the winter. On spring, place plants into the pond once water temperatures are above 70F.

This Water Lily begins to bloom in the later afternoon and throughout the evening each day, ideal for those who are at work during the day, and want to see their Water Lillies bloom when they are home!

Type: Perennial waterplant

Hardiness Zones: 9-11 planted outdoors, or treated as an annual, or brought indoors for the winter in colder climates.

Location: Sun

Seeds per pack: 5

Germination These seeds are fairly easy to germinate! A loamy soil is best. Place the seeds on the surface of the soil, and cover with a very thin layer of sand to help anchor the seeds down (so they don't float away). Then, gently submerge the container into water, with 1-2 cm of water above the soil level. Place the pot in a sunny, warm location. Once seeds germinate, at first they will appear like grass, and later developing their true leaves. Germination usually takes approximately 4 weeks, but can take up to 12 weeks, so patience may be required (they are worth the wait!).
