The type locality is located at the edge of the foothills of the Prince Alexander Mountains, elevation of about 150 m above sea level and lies approximately 455 km upstream from the Pacific Ocean (Ref. 116997).  No picture yet.

In 2004, a single juvenile cost K1.30 ~ 0.41 USD, a substantial amount in the Obo and Lake Murray areas and a fisherman is estimated to earn around K300 per day ~95 USD during the breeding season, effecting an increase in fishing effort.
