The Perfect Sweet and Smoky Broiled Ham Steaks

Broiled ham steaks are something my family has at least once a month. My kids love ham steaks and they are so, incredibly, easy to make. Grilling these would be a great alternative way to cook them. I just find it easier to broil them. When I am watching 4 kids and trying to get the rest of supper on the table, it’s hard for me to go out to the grill and pay attention to everything else. Either way these broiled ham steaks are sweet, smoky and tangy. The liquid smoke adds the perfect smoky flavor. Adding ground cloves is optional, but I think it makes these ham steaks even more delicious.

We usually have left overs because I make two ham steaks at once. The left over ham is perfect to use in an omelet, in a breakfast sandwich, along side some scrambled eggs or in a delicious egg bake. (Can you tell I love breakfast food?) One of the keys to meal planning is making things that can be used for more than one meal.

These ham steaks are also perfect if you want to make ham for the holidays, but making an entire ham is way too much. Plus it takes a lot less time.
