WILKES-BARRE TWNP., LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) — Wawa fans rejoice! One is in the works in Wilkes-Barre Township.
According to our newsgathering partners at the Times Leader, Wawa is coming to the former Blackman Plaza off of Route 309 .
The plaza, which has been re-named Union Center, used to house a Kmart that was vacated a few years ago.
The township zoning office has receieved plans for a location with a convenience store/gas station to be built next to the McDonald’s.
Once plans are reviewed, zoning will issue a building permit, where Wawa will decide if they will apply for it.
There is no set timeline as of yet.
