Paris Saint Germain and Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has some of the most impressive skill ever seen on a soccer pitch, and is capable of scoring baffling goals. He also stands 6-foot-5 but evidence suggests that he might think he’s actually eight feet tall.

Love him or hate him, soccer wouldn’t be the same without him. Here are 10 of the most ludicrous things he’s ever said.

10. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not one of those men that sweats over whether to go with chocolate or jewelry or flowers. When asked what he was getting his wife for her birthday he said that he’s all the gift she needs.

9. When Ibrahimovic arrived at PSG from AC Milan in 2012, reporters asked him how he and his wife were settling in Paris and how their apartment hunt was going.

Apartments. As if Zlatan Ibrahimovic has use for such things.

8. Ibrahimovic asked about World Cup playoff, refers to himself as God.

Sweden was set to play Portugal in the playoffs while trying to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and Ibrahimovic was interviewed about it.

If you don’t speak Swedish:

TV4 reporter: Who’ll win the qualifier?

Ibrahimovic: Only God knows

Reporter: It’s kinda hard to ask him

Ibrahimovic: You’re talking to him now

7. Sweden lost that playoff to Portugal, which was either just unlucky or karmic retribution, depending on how you look at it. When asked how he felt about the loss, Ibrahimovic said the World Cup was going to be rubbish without him.

6. After Sweden was eliminated from the European Championship in 2012, reporters asked Ibrahimovic who he thought would go on to win the competition, just like that was something that mattered to him.

4. Tensions ran high between Ibrahimovic and then-teammate and club captain at Ajax, Rafael Van Der Vaart. The two played against each other in an international match between Sweden and the Netherlands, and Ibrahimovic launched a pretty rash tackle at Van Der Vaart. Later, Van Der Vaart accused Ibrahimovic of trying to intentionally injure him. Ibrahimovic didn’t take too kindly to that.

3. PSG TV asked Ibrahimovic what 11 players he’d field and why if he could choose from anybody he’s ever played with. Ibrahimovic chose himself as point striker. His reason? “God.”

2. Before Zlatan Ibrahimovic played for some of the largest clubs in Europe, he played for a small Swedish club called Malmo. When he was young, he had the chance to leave Malmo for Arsenal. The buzz was so strong that Gunners fans had already started to wear jerseys with his name on them. It would’ve been a dream move.

The catch was that Arsene Wenger wanted him to do a trial, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic doesn’t do trials.

1. After turning down a move to Arsenal, Ibrahimovic signed to Ajax for about $9 million. The then 20-year-old Ibrahimovic was asked how he’d introduce himself to his new teammates, and his answer is one of the first and the most perfect example of his complete lack of self-doubt.
