SUMMARY
Anamorph: Conidiomata to ca 500 µm diam., ± globose, usually not convoluted, visible externally as small clusters of black ostioles within dark grey to black patches of discoloured bark. Conidiophores lining the entire inner surface of the conidioma, short, with one or a samll fascicle of conidiogenous cells at the apex. Conidiogenous cells 12-17 (-23) x 2.5-3.5 µm, ± cylindrical or gradually tapering, proliferating percurrently, usually with a minute collarette and periclinal thickening. Alpha-conidia 8.5-10.5 (-12.5) x 2.5-3.5 µm, fusiform, the apex acute and the base minutely truncate, hyaline, aseptate, thin- and smooth-walled, often biguttulate, without an epispore, genatinous sheath or appendages. Beta-conidia 16-23 x ca 1 µm, curved or hooked at the apex, not always present.
Teleomorph: stromata visible externally as small discs containing a small cluster of ostioles, dorsal blackening absent or present and then sometimes dipping slightly into the bark. Ascomata 200-500 µm diam., thickly scattered, usually tending to be clustered, collectively erumpent, ostioles cylindrical and sometimes elongate-sinuous. Asci 40-47 x 6-9 µm, clavate, with a refractive apical ring. Ascospores 10-14(-15) x 2.5-4 µm, fusiform-ellipsoidal, hyaline, 1-septate, thin- and smooth-walled, often biguttulate, without an epispore, genatinous sheath or appendages.
