SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata apothecia, 200-600 (-1000) µm diam., discoid or with a slightly raised margin, rounded, sessile, smooth, dark blue or blue-green, rarely light blue-green, almost black when dry, growing singly or in clusters. Exciple consisting of globose to slightly angular cells 7–16 μm diam., bright blue-green, K+ dull yellow-green. Hymenium 100-220 µm tall, hyaline or pale blue-green above. Interascal tissue of simple paraphyses 1.5–3 μm diam., often with a capitate apex to 8 μm diam., blue-green above, straight or curved, sometimes forked. Asci 138–195 × 17.5–22 μm, cylindrical to clavate, short-stalked, the apex rounded, with a thick, non-amyloid apical dome containing a cylindrical tube- or plug-like structure (visible in Congo Red).not staining in iodine, 8-spored. Ascospores uniseriately to biseriately arranged, (15-) 17–24 × (9-) 10–13 μm, ellipsoidal to fusiform-ellipsoidal or ovoid, often with one side flattened, hyaline, aseptate, smooth, thin-walled, filled with many small lipid droplets, when immature containing 1-2 large guttules, without an epispore, gelatinous sheath or appendages.
