SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph ascomata apothecia, 2-10 (-15) mm diam. and 2-8 (-10) mm tall, cupulate, short-stalked, the edge and outer surface slightly to distinctly whitish-pubescent, the disc bright orange, the margin not toothed. Excipulum composed of thin-walled intertwined hyphae to 9 µm diam. Interascal tissue composed of unbranched paraphyses 3-4 µm diam., the apices curved but not noticeably swollen, containing orange carotenoid pigments. Asci 260-290 x 14-17 µm, cylindrical, with a long tapering stalk, thin-walled, the apex rounded to truncate, operculate, not staining in iodine, 8-spored. Ascospores arranged uniseriately, 20-23 x 11-14 µm, ellipsoidal, aseptate, thin-walled, hyaline, with 1-2 large guttules, smooth though sometimes with an inconspicuous rather irregular ornamentation that is probably formed from a gelatinous layer.
