Description:
Acarospora cervina, well-developed material growing on the chamfered plinth of a church buttress, VC 20, Hertfordshire. Note the immersed apothecia, set in brown, pale-edged areoles. This species is exclusively calcicolous (unlike the majority of British species in this genus which mainly grow on siliceous rocks).
