Yellowish green tree cactus from southern Mexico with white flowers. Stems are 2-3 inches in diameter with 7-9 ribs, no central spines, and ~5 (3-6) radial spines. Flowers have a faint pinkish tint. Fruit is reddish purple and edible.

This is one of two trees in the genus from Puebla and Oaxaca, along with P. chichipe. They may occur together in some places. This species is supposed to occur on limestone while chichipe occurs on alluvium. Polaskia was briefly subsumed into Myrtillocactus, but is now separate. It is native to the Tahuacán-Cuicatlán Valley and a few other places.
