Hanging cactus from Baja California with long, branched stems, orange-red flowers, and red fruit. Stems are cylindrical and yellowish green, to 13 feet long, with 8-10 ribs, 1 central spine, and 6-10 or more radial spines. Found only in the mountains of the cape region of Baja California Sur.

This plant was formerly assigned to the monotypic genus Morangaya, and a 2018 paper argued for it to be reinstated there. It has an unusual growth habit for Echinocereus.
