Plant Description: In the Verbena family and native to the Willamette Valley, Swamp Verbena is a tall growing flowering perennial with spiked shaped, multi-stemmed purple flowers. Swamp Vervain has historically been used medicinally to treat depression, headaches, menstrual symptoms, and fevers as well as topically for acne. Swamp Verbena has been known to interact with hormone treatment and can interact with blood pressure medications and can cause nausea in large doses.
