Zach Cahill

Zach Cahill was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at North Dakota State University working with the Bison football, wrestling, and track and field teams for the 2017-18 season and the fall of 2018.

Cahill came to NDSU after spending the last four years working at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill., where he returned in January 2019.

He served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the 2014 MAC Champion and three-time MAC West Division Champion NIU football team from June 2013-17 and was the director of strength and conditioning for Northern Illinois’ Olympic sports programs from 2014-17.

Prior to his time at Northern Illinois, Cahill served as the strength and conditioning coordinator at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Ill., from 2012-13 and was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of North Dakota from 2009-12.

Cahill graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2008 before earning his master’s degree in Kinesiology at the University of North Dakota in 2012.

He is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has a certificate from the American Red Cross in first aid and CPR.

Cahill also holds a Level 1 Sport Performance Coach Certificate from USA Weightlifting.
