Phelsuma Nigristriata (Island Day Gecko)

The Island day gecko, also known as “The Black Striped day gecko” (the name of this species “Nigristriata” means black stripes), is a diurnal species of gecko that is native to the island of Mayotte and typical inhabits bamboo forests, located deep within the jungle. The body color is bright green from the top of its head, all the way down to the tip of its tail, their underside is white, and they have black stripes that run along the sides of their body. Island day geckos are often found in pairs, living amongst Pandanus plants.
