Shocking video of a broad daylight stabbing in France this morning shows the moment a brave man tried to intervene during the attack.
The footage shows a man wearing a backpack trying to stop a Syrian migrant armed with a knife from attacking a child in a pushchair.
The child’s guardian, who appears to be a middle aged woman, desperately tries to escape with the toddler as the knife wielding migrant repeatedly runs at the pair stabbing the infant.

The attack is reported to have taken place at 9:45am local time this morning in a park in the south east area of Lake Annecy.
French News site BFM has said that “Four children were seriously injured and two of them are in absolute emergency.”
The remaining two children are reported to have sustained slight injuries.
One adult is also reported to have been stabbed during the attack and is in a serious condition.
The suspected attacker, a 32 year old Syrian who was reportedly granted asylum last April, has been arrested with Regional deputy Antoine Armand describing the stabbing as “abominable”.
The four children are all nursery school age, believed to be around three years old.
A minute of silence was observed in the French National Assembly.
