Malayalam Name - മേന്തോന്നി (menthonni)
It is one of the seven upavishas. Antidote for many poisons of plant and animal origin.
Antidote for snake poison.
Tuber is the useful part.
It is applied as a paste on the umbilical region and the palms/ soles for treating placental retension.
Rasa - tiktha , Kashaya
Guna - laghu, ruksha
Veerya - Ushna
Vipaka - Katu
