… Foreign competitors to begin arriving tomorrow

A HEAPING helping of sponsorship came the way of the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) for its Ignite event set for this weekend.

The club last week collected sponsorship from CARICOM Insurance Company ahead of the November 10 and 11 event at the South Dakota Circuit, Timehri.
In collecting the sponsorship, GMR&SC, through its representative, Saurica Singh, thanked the company for its support for the event.

Meanwhile, the club has confirmed that with the exception of the Jamaican competitors and two CAMS Cars out of Jamaica, all other containers are in port Georgetown.

It is expected that clearance and transportation of the containers to the Timehri facility will be done between today and tomorrow with competitors expecting access on Friday.
Ignite, which will double as the final leg of the Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championships (CMRC), will feature competitors out of Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Jamaica, United States and Europe.

The two days of racing action will feature competition in the Street and Sport Tuner class as well as the Choke Starlet Cup, Street Cross Motorcycles and the 125cc Lightweight Bikes.
On the regional scene, Groups 2-4 action as well as the Superstock and the Radical Caribbean Cup will be featured over the two days of action.

Tickets for the 27-race programme are on sale at the cost of $2 500; children $1 000 at B.M. Soat Auto Sales, Croal Street office.
On Saturday time trials for all classes begin at 10:00hrs; followed by official races in the Street Cross Motorcycle, 125cc Motorcycle, Street Tuner, Choke Starlet Cup and Sports Tuner, from 13:20hrs.

The feature race on Saturday will be the SR3 Radicals Caribbean Cup.
Action on Sunday will begin at 08:00hrs.
