Rockets Land in Beitar, Air Raid Sirens Sounded in Yerushalayim, Ashkelon, Other Areas

A number of injuries were reported as rockets fell in Beitar Illit, and air raid sirens warning of impending projectiles targeting Yerushalayim and its environs were sounded Monday afternoon together with areas closer to the Gaza border, as Palestinian terrorists continue their brutal assault on the State of Israel.

Those injured from the attack on Beitar include, according to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, a 6-year-old boy with a minor injury, an 11-year-old boy with a shrapnel injury in moderate condition, who is conscious, a man in serious condition with an abdominal injury who required resuscitation, and a 56-year-old woman in a moderately conscious state. Two others were in mild condition, one from anxiety.

Israeli police say that two houses in the Yerushalayim Mountains area were hit by rockets; one in a Jewish area and another in a Muslim neighborhood. Three people were injured in 2 different sites that were struck; their identities are not known at this time. One person is reportedly in serious condition, another is in moderate condition and the third is in mild condition.

In the Yerushalayim Corridor sector, MDA teams provided medical treatment and sent two wounded to Shaare Zedek Hospital, including a 60-year-old woman in a serious and unstable condition with an abdominal injury and an injured person in minor condition.

Sirens were sounded for a second time in Ashkelon. Additional cities included Yad Mordechai, Netiv Ha’asara and other areas north of Gaza. The Kiryat Shmona municipality has told residents to take shelter and remain there until further notice. Home Front Command has instructed neighboring towns to do the same.

Israel Police have confirmed that their officers are currently on-site in the cities of Ashkelon and Ashdod following the first barrage, where two individuals have sustained serious injuries – one in Ashkelon and one in Ashdod.
