I love my language :) Sorry, we have so many prefixes because we specificate many things! A big advantage in technical descriptions! Everytime I translate something into English, I'm really surprised that it doesn't exist any English word with this strong meaning as we have in German! Maybe it's more useful with examples. Wait a few seconds!

Zuvor, vorher and before only for time. Vor as well for positions.

It's hard to explain. But I hope you understand it. Vorher can only used in a following sentence after something else was described which happened after that following sentence, but was first expressed.

Vorher means exactly the same as davor.

Oh okay, thank you very much! I think I get it now :)
- German
As well means bevor and zuvor exactly the same, but not the same as davor. Zuvor is mostly used in the middle of a sentence. Before at the beginning. You write both actions in one sentence. It means an action you describe right now and one how happened before.

Oh and if you use vor for time expressions, it's only possible with timespans.
