    Description
    Semisucculent annual herbs, branchlets pubescent. Leaves 2-5 x 2-3.5 cm, broadly ovate, base turncate or cordate, margin crenate-serrate, apex obtuse, verrucose above, pubescent below, subsucculent; petiole to 4 cm long. Flowers in terminal simple or panicled, 1.5-3 cm long, oblong spikes. Calyx c. 4 mm long, tubular, mouth oblique, 2-lipped, acute; upper lip pubescent without, deflexed in fruits. Corolla purple, c. 1 cm long, lobes 5, 2-lipped, upper lip entire, lower 4-lobed . Stamens 4, exserted; filaments connate at base forming a sheath. Fruits of 4, ovoid nutlets. Seeds orbicular, smooth.
