Dino Morea says his ‘biggest mistake’ was going after money: ‘I lost track of what kind of films I am doing, I needed money’

Dino Morea, who is now getting work in web shows and regional films too, also spoke about people paying more attention to his relationship with Bipasha Basu. The two stars featured together in Raaz. He said that during the initial years of his career, he spoke “more about the person I was seeing than the movie I was doing.”

The actor added, “I did a few movies with Bipasha Basu but it was not about the movies we did, it was about we broke up, what’s the chemistry like, how are we still friends. I understand it is a part and parcel of the job, but I understood it quite late and it kept bothering me because I always wanted to keep my personal life private.”

Dino Morea has been a part of the Hindi film industry since 1999. His debut Bollywood movie was Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. When asked about Priyanka Chopra’s latest comment on Bollywood’s practice of giving work to people who socialise and attend parties, Dino found nothing bad about it.

He opined, “It’s not just in the film industry. You see some of the biggest deals are done at the golf course. We call it parties but it’s just about the network. You go out, you meet people and say, ‘I would love to work with you.’ I don’t see a problem with that. Maybe you will get an opportunity to be a part of someone’s film. You do not go out necessarily to a social gathering to find work, you go to meet your colleagues and your friends. We shouldn’t give it a definition like I need to go to a party to find work.”

Dino Morea was last seen in the Disney Plus Hotstar series The Empire. He has a few other projects in the pipeline.
