Rearward-facing is best for newborns A rearward-facing car seat gives more support to your baby’s head, neck and spine. Your child needs to travel rearwardfacing until they weigh at least 9kg (20lb). The Maxi-Cosi Pebble used with the FamilyFix Base (IsoFix) and the Maxi-Cosi Opal (seat belt installation) both offer extra legroom for babies up to 13kg in weight, so they can travel rearward-facing in complete safety and comfort for longer. IsoFix (International Standards Organisation FIX) is widely recognised as the safest way to install a child car seat.
