I started my professional career in journalism writing about movies. My first full-time paid gig was, remarkably, as the film critic of a suburban glossy, The Melbourne Weekly. For five or six years I reviewed every new cinema release, and had a ball doing it.

Over the years, I’ve expanded my horizons enormously, writing about all manner of things. But film always draws me back in some way. I love it – the business, the industry, the people, and of course the films themselves.
