Working for the OSU Ichthyology Collection:
At the collection my main job consisted of photographing specimens, Photoshopping them and uploading them to the online database, and adding them to the materials for the online fish class. I worked with the collection by organizing and taking care of the preserved specimens and adding to and updating the digital catalog. I also helped clear and stain dozens of specimens and a multitude of other tasks as they arose. Finally, I created a poster which can be seen below!
|
A poster I created from field photographs of 50 different species collected by my supervisor in Gabon, Africa. All the Photoshopping and poster layout was done by me. Fish identification was done by my supervisor and various fish specialists from different locations around the globe.
On the right are some of the more interesting and better preserved specimens I photographed and Photoshopped during my internship.
