Introduced annual forb to 35cm tall. Basal rosette leaves 5-12cm long, 8-20mm wide, upper surface becoming hairless, lower surface white and hairy. Stem leaves alternating up the stems, similar, but smaller and narrower. Flower heads small (to 3mm across), with 0 ’petals’, in clusters at the bases of the leaves or forming dense cylindrical groups up the stem.
