Notes

Introduced annual grass, prostrate or 5-35cm tall.  Leaves with a hairy sheath at the base.  Ligule a membrane without a fringe of hairs.  Leaves 3-10cm long, 1-4mm wide, flat, hairy or hairless, tips blunt, sometimes with a straight hard point.  Spikelets green, 2-4mm long (excluding the awns).  Mature seed groups cylindrical to oval, or slightly spreading in large heads.  Seeds with one awn 1-3mm long.
