After copying company code in Enterprise Structure, there may be a need to reassign chart of account data for the copied company code. Follow steps below to get it done.
OBR2 – Delete GL Master data if any
If GL master was copied during copying company code, it is required to delete all those master data before reassigning new COA.
KA24 – Delete Cost element master data if any
OBR2 itself doesn’t delete existing cost elements created in current Controlling area. It will prevent you to change COA in Controlling area data until all CE are deleted. So you might need to run KA24 to delete Cost element master data before changing COA assignment in Controlling Area.
OKKP – Unassign company code to Controlling Area
If the company code is currently assigned to a controlling area, this step is required.
OBY7 – Copy COA and related account determination
In case you have created a COA with the same ID, system will not allow you to use it in this OBY7. In this case, you use OBY8 to delete existing COA and execute OBY7 again.
OBY6 – Assign company code to newly COA
Notes: If company code is assigned to any controlling area => First unassigned from controlling area with tcode OKKP.
OKKP – Assign COA for Controlling Area
OKKP – Reassigned Company codes to Controlling Area
FS15 – Copy Accounts from one company code in OLD COA to company code in new COA.
If there is little difference between the source and target company code, copying can be easily done with option Transfer Data Directly as below sample.
However, there are some different settings in source and target company codes resulting error during check
In this case, there is option to download and upload file.
Please note that file will be generated into application server
“/usr/sap/SA1/SYS/global/FBISZZZZ was generated”
In this case, ZZZZ was my file name entered in FS15.
CG3Y – Download file and edit field values
The downloaded file can be mass edited to have proper value before uploading.

FS16 – Copy GL Master data in Target Company code
If system doesn’t print out any output, you have successfully copied accounts into new Company code.
The file editing and uploading can be repeated in order to copy for other company code with other currencies….
