ABOUT THE PROGRAM

About

The Koin Kids program has been designed to be a stepping stone to refine the youngest minds to be ready to enter their teenage years with exceptional classroom etiquette, attention to details, a step ahead with choreography retention & ultimately getting these young dancers ready to attack the industry. Koin Kids is for young dancers ages 8-12, who are already at an advanced level, looking to further branch out with their training. Dancers MUST belong to a home studio/program that trains full-time. The program is designed to be a stepping stone to prepare the littles for what is expected of them in the “real world” at a young age, while also cultivating a warm & positive environment. The program is aimed at fostering a nurturing environment for continuous growth & is unique in its structure as it is not meant to be a dancers sole training, but instead a complimentary addition. Here at Koin & Co, the goal is to have dancers pursue as many training opportunities as possible, while honoring the importance & consistency of studio training.

The goal for the Koin Kids is to ultimately have the dancers cultivating their skills to successfully matriculate into the older Junior Training Program!

Program Structure

The program runs September - May, & is comprised of two semesters, Fall & Spring. Training is held once a week on Sundays. The roster for Koin Kids is limited to a select group of dancers to ensure individual growth & one-on-one attention during classes. Each Sunday is comprised of a unique roster of teachers/genres, to best push & grow each dancer towards a versatile career. In this day & age, dancers are not needed to have one specialty but are required to simply, do it all - dancing, singing, acting, special skills, etc,. The schedule is true to one of a working dancer in the industry, all while catering to the young minds at hand.

Koin Kids Program Elements

Mock Auditions

Throughout the season, our dancers work with each of the major NYC talent agencies via the Mock Audition Series (MAS)! The MAS is a true test of the dancers, as their progress is put to test by agents & choreographers. Through the MAS, many dancers from each of our previous seasons have received agency meetings and/or representation. Koin Kids will be invited to participate in one mock audition with the JTP & will have one mock on their own as well.

Koin Kids Piece

At least one piece will be set on the Koin Kids program, which will be included in the Spring Showcases in May! This is where all of your dancers hard work will be showcased - it is a such special celebration of the dancers!

Spring Showcase

The season ends with an incredible Spring Showcase, that cultivates the time & work executed while training with Koin & Co! The Spring Showcase is split into two shows: Industry and Family & Friends - the industry showcase is for invited agents & industry professionals to have a private viewing of the dancers, while the Family & Friends show is just that - family & friends to enjoy!

Koin & Co Director Ali was once a young dancer who came eagerly to New York City, only to find herself feeling unprepared for what was required to be a successful working artist. Ali has created the ultimate educational programs for young dancers!
