The Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan was created, the Agency for Youth Affairs was transferred to the subordination of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Agency for Youth Affairs was removed from the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports and transferred to the jurisdiction of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports has been transformed into the Ministry of Sports.
This is defined in the presidential decree signed on January 20, on measures for the effective organization of public administration in the field of youth policy and sports.
According to the document, the Ministry of Sports will be located in Tashkent on Abdulla Kadyri Street, 2, and the Youth Agency – on Alisher Navoi Street, 11.
It should be recalled that until December 2022, youth policy was led by the Youth Affairs Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and sports policy by the Ministry for Sports Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, after which the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan was created, and the agency was transferred to the jurisdiction of this ministry.
